When you promote a web site there are many different methods you can use. When I say website I also talked about the blog. After all, the blog is a web site. The reason you do this is to get traffic to your site. If you do not do promotion then no one will visit. So your site will become a virtual ghost town and who wants that?

I'll start with my favorite ways to promote a website and a marketing articles. Of course, considering that you can write a half way decent. If not you can outsource writing to ghost writers. Then submit the article with the first Ezine Articles, they are the best. Once you get a receipt from them then you can start sending to another directory.

There is controversy surrounding the submitting articles. Some will use only original and do not spin their articles to article submit software. Other uses all types of software to submit articles to rewrite the same article several times. I have to rewrite my own article, but never use an article submitter software. Its best to have the best possible content to promote the website and the original is best.

2 SEO
You need marketing research articles to determine which method works best for you. Moving along to SEO (search engine optimization) is the use keywords in your content whether it's an article, website or blog. There is much to learn this, I advise you to learn it BEFORE you write anything.

The basic joke is, the keywords that people use to find stuff online. Along with the back links and other SEO techniques. You also can outsource this job, but can be expensive.

3. Send
If you promote your website, you will need to do a lot to send. Submitting your url to search engines, rss feeds and social networking sites like Digg, Facebook, Twitter, Stumbleupon, Delicious, and Yahoo to name a few. There are hundreds of these sites, so you need to find ones that work best for you.

4.Forums
Many other ways to promote your website is with the forum. All you do is join that you think are relevant to your product or site, make friends, and give to the community. Then place a signature link (url) in your post and in a few days people will click on them. Problems with the forum sometimes too much time spent hanging out.

Try not to spend too much time on the forums, but focus on other forms of promotion site as well. Some other ways to promote are press releases, videos, pay-per-click, traditional advertising, email, auto respondents, exchange links, Squidoo, Hubpages, Knol, reviews, interviews and offline methods.

Many marketers do well with offline promotion such as brochures, business cards, postcards, newspaper ads, radio and TV. There are more ways to promote your website, but this should keep you busy.
